Overview of the QA Tester Role
This role will see you being part of an awesome tech team where you have autonomy and ownership of what you do. We believe in empowering our teams to do what they want to do best.
You will work with a small cross-functional team to develop a new service that we are launching on the market. This product has components that are low-level processing of network data written in C and data analytics and visualizations written in Python and SvelteKit.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the requirements for development tasks and features are met before they are released and that there are no regression or quality issues in releases. This will entail you writing test scenarios to validate business and technical requirements for a task. This is done in conjunction with the product owner and the development team.
You will be involved in testing features during development as well as assisting in deployments and post-deployment testing.
Skill Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a software tester or software support specialist.
- Experience in functional/non-functional testing, UI, acceptance, exploratory and smoke testing.
- Good understanding of QA approaches, testing principles and test types.
- Good understanding and first-hand experience of Scrum principles and/or other agile frameworks.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience with writing test scenarios (integration, E2E).
- Willingness to contribute to (test) documentation.
- Attention to detail and determination to solve problems.
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office and related software products.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken). Team player and being able to work independently.
- Openness to acquiring new knowledge.
Nice to Have (bonus):
- Experience with SQL queries.
- Experience in automated UI testing (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium…) using Java, Typescript, Javascript, or Python.
- Experience with code repositories (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
- Experience in (automated) API testing (Postman, Rest Assured…).
- Experience working with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery systems (GitHub Action, Jenkins, GoCD, GitLab pipelines…).
Daily Duties:
- Participation in the daily standup meeting.
- Write test scenarios and contribute to other (test) documentation.
- Feature and regression testing.
- Work together with developers by testing features and doing regression testing.
- Documenting possible bugs and verifying fixes for open issues.
- Helping dev and test team during the deployments.
